Vice President Zeng Chunnian Went to Serbia and Hungary to Visit Universities
From September 20 to September 26, the Ministry of Education sent a delegation of the Fourth Meeting of China-CEEC higher Education Institution Consortium to Serbia and Hungary. ProfessorZeng Chunnian, vice President ofWUT, as a member of representative of China-CEEC higher Education Institution Consortium,was invited to participate in The Fifth China-CEEC Education Policy Dialogue and the Fourth Meeting of China-CEEC higher Education Institution Consortium.

During his stay, Vice President Zeng Chunnian visited University of Novi Sad in Serbia, University of Belgradein Serbia, University of Szeged in Hungary and Hungarian Ministry of Human Resources. He successively met Professor Juliana Popova, vice president of “Angel Kanchev” University of Ruse, Professor Sanja Stojanovic, the vice president of University of Novi Sad in Serbia, Professor Ivana Cukovic Bagic, vice president of University of Szeged in Hungary, Professor Ana Dragutinovic, vice president of University of Montenegro, Professor Roman Prokop, vice president of the Tomas Bata University in Czech Republic. And he had conversations with the foreign representatives that attended the Fourth Meeting of China-CEEC higher Education Institution Consortium for conversation.

Vice president Zeng Chunnian introduced development history, characteristics and scale of WUT to members of the Federation of Foreign Associations and focused on the university’s international education conceptions, the measures and achievements in the application-oriented talents cultivation based on the industry background, the cooperation with enterprises and innovation promotion in the construction of Belt and Road Initiative. Foreign universities expressed their expectation of pragmatic cooperations with WUT in scientific research, teachers visits and personnel training. On the occasion of the talks, on behalf of the university, Vice president Zeng Chunnian, signed an agreement on cooperation in inter-university exchanges with Juliana Popova, vice president of Angel Kanchev University of Ruse, and set up a platform for future cooperation in scientific research and exchange of teachers and students between the two universities.

This visit laid a solid foundation for the university to expand inter-school exchanges, to carry out scientific and technological education cooperation and expand international influence with Central and Eastern Europe countries.
To implement the spirit of the Riga guidelines for cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries,49 representatives from 29 universities in China and 88 foreign representatives from 16 Central and Eastern European countries participated in the relevant meeting sat the invitation of the Ministry of Education of Serbia, the Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary and the universities in both countries.
