Professor Thomas E. Mallouk, Academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Lectured in WHUT Forum
On August 28th, Prof. Thomas E. Mallouk (Professor of Pennsylvania State University, Academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and Associate Editor of the top international journal – The Journal of American Chemical Society) was invited to lecture in WHUT Forum and made an excellent report entitled "How Do You Make a Micro-Robot?" to more than a thousand teachers and students in our university. Vice President Chun-nian Tseng attended and chaired the forum.
With a vivid micro-nano motor video and refined language, Professor Mallouk brought everyone into the field of micro-nano robot research. In an easily understandable way, he introduced the concept, research significance, current situation and development prospect of micro-nano robot to the teachers and students, demonstrating the infinite charm of micro-nano robot research. In the interaction, many students who first understood the micro-nano robot study showed great interest in this, and targeted to put forward their own questions, to which Professor Mallouk gave patient answers.
Academician Thomas E. Mallouk is an Evan Pugh University Professor of Chemistry, Physics, and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in Pennsylvania State University. His research focuses on the synthesis of inorganic materials and their applications in solar energy conversion, catalysis and electro-catalysis as well as micro-nano engine applications. Professor Mallouk has published more than 400 papers in internationally renowned journals, and now serves as the associate editor of the Journal of the American Chemical Society, deputy director of Pennsylvania Materials Science and Engineering Research Center and the Center for Nanoscale Science, academician of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, member of the US National Academy of Sciences, and member of the American Chemical Society.
